Protocol for Admission of Abandoned Dogs.
After your initial contact with The Dog House, arrangements will be made to addmit the dog i.e. date, time, etc.
On the day of collection.
A check of the rescue dog will be carried out for any injuries etc and initial bond made with the dog.
All necessary paper work will be completed.
You will be given a receipt for any donation made to the Foundation.
You will be asked to name the dog.
You will be informed that the centre will contact you within 3 days, giving you an update on how your rescue dog is settling in at the centre etc.
You will have the opportunity to make arrangement to visit the centre, see how your rescue dog has settled and how he/she is mixing with all the other dogs. (Dont forget dog treats!) This helps the dogs in many ways (see visit )
The rescue dog will be seen by the Foundations veterinarian within 72 hours, checked for micro chip, and health check.
The dog will be given immediate medical treatment if required, i.e. Injuries, Fractures, Internal bleeding, any medical conditions requiring IV fluids, and for whatever the reason the centre may deem medical intervention is required.
Your rescue dog will be given 24hr observation for several weeks, until your rescue dog is ready to move on and mix with more of the dogs at the centre,
or re homed.
Please remember to donate to the Foundation, without your help we would not be able to help many of these dogs.
Thank you for your support.
